High School and Beyond Plan

The following instructions will help you get started building your required High School and Beyond Plan.   The High School and Beyond Plan is designed to capture your goals and interests in an education plan which you design to meet district graduation credit requirements and reach your post-high school goals.  Sample High School and Beyond Plans have been provided for you on the district's Field of Study site to help you get started in putting together your plan.

Step 1. Gather the Materials you will need

1. Your 2nd Semester Schedule if you are completing this during 1st semester.
2. Your high school's course descriptions. (available online or through the Counseling Office)
3. Sample plans in areas of interest from the Field of Study site if needed.

Step 2. Download the High School and Beyond Plan document by right-clicking on your school's name below and selecting "Save ... As..." (Adobe Reader 8.0+ Required)

Step 3. Complete the High School and Beyond Plan document

1. Type in your name
2. Select or type what you plan to do after high school
3. Select which Field of Study area(s) you are interested in (click link for more information about Fields of Study)
4. Select or type the Program of Study Concentration that you are interested in pursuing as part of your plan (click link for more information about Programs of Study)
5. Select or type the courses and credit type for each course you have taken, are taking, or plan to take for grades 9-12
6. Check the FS box next to the courses in your Program of Study Concentration.
7. Make sure to save upon completion
   

Step 4. Upload completed High School and Beyond Plan document to your WOIS Portfolio

1. If you are not already logged into your Portfolio, go to the WOIS site at www.wois.org, enter your School’s Site Key Number, and then log-in to your Portfolio Account using your Portfolio User ID and Password. If you do not have a Portfolio Account, you will need to create one.
2. Once you are logged into your Portfolio Account click on "Educational Planner"
3. Click "Upload File"
4. Type an appropriate "Description"
5. Browse for your High School and Beyond Plan on your computer
6. Click the "Upload" button

Your High School and Beyond Plan is now saved in your WOIS Portfolio where you can access it regularly to make updates as needed.  You will need to update your plan at least annually based on changes in your goals, interests, and selected courses.
