How Do I Apply

E-mail Print PDF

The application for the Edmonds eLearning school year program is a four step process.

Step One:
Make sure this is the right program for you. eLearning is a wonderful opportunity for some students and a nightmare for others! What makes the difference? The answer is YOU, the student. Truthfully, eLearning is NOT right for everyone. That's why we want you to look at the articles, " Is eLearning Right For Me?" and  "Expectations for Online Students" and take the quiz "Is Online Learning Right For Me?". We also suggest your parent/guardian review the article " Am I Ready to Be the Parent of An Online Student" If this program is a good match for your learning style and needs then please apply. If not please check with your counselor and find another alternative.

Step Two:

Complete the Online Application. Once we receive your application we will email you with directions for completing the required orientation class for the Edmonds eLearning program.
Please note that there is a new application for the 2009 -10 school year.  The new application is submitted online, a copy will be emailed to your counselor.

Step Three:
Complete the Orientation Class for the program. You will receive via email directions for  logging into the orientation class. Make sure you complete all the readings and the three assignments in this class. Once all the work is completed we will be notified by the system that you have finished the class and will arrange for a face-to-face meeting to enroll you in the program (space permitting).

Step Four (Once Accepted):
Students will receive an email from the eLearning program once they are accepted. Schedule and attend the face-to-face registration session for getting started in the program. This meeting takes 30 - 45 minutes and is the final step in the process of becoming a student in the Edmonds eLearning program.
Students who are enrolling to take more than one online classe at a time must  bring a  parent/guardian to the orientation.

Having trouble logging into the Edmonds eLearning site?

We have learned that student passwords were reset  this summer to the default (first four characters of your last name + month of birth + day of birth).

Default passwords do not allow access to the eLearning site at smog.edmonds.wednet.edu

To create or reset your  password follow these steps:

Go to web trekker at  http://webtrekker.edmonds.wednet.edu and log in with your:

  1. District username (first five of your last name + first three of your first name + 000 - maybe 001, 002, etc)
  2. Default password (first 4 characters of your last name + month of birth + day of birth, for example nam0131).
  3. If your password has been reset  you will be prompted to change your password
  4. Change your password to one you will remember.

If you are not prompted to change your password at web trekker or it does not work (you cannot reset the password or you are still not able to log into the Edmonds eLearning site) please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it me.

Include in the subject line of the email “Reset Password”

Include in the body of the email the following information

  1. Full name
  2. Date of birth
  3. Grade
  4. Home school

We will have your password reset to the default as listed above.

Please be patient as our help-desk staff is limited and it may take a day or two to accommodate all the requests we receive.

Thanks

Sam
